New Hyundai Santa Fe has been shown in New York

South Korean company Hyundai Motor unveiled new crossover Hyundai Santa Fe opened at the New York International Auto Show. The new Santa Fe impressive fuel economy and a variety of innovative systems that meet all standards of comfort and functionality.

"Spacious interior, interior trim premium, good handling characteristics achieved by weight reduction and innovation, as well as a high level of security and economic fuel consumption make the model ideal crossover for large families," – said Mike O'Brien, vice president Corporate modeling and planning of Hyundai Motor America, during a press conference in New York.

Thanks direction "Storm Edge", developed under the concept of brand Hyundai "wavy lines" in the appearance of the car shows new elements of nature. Futuristic urban design with hexagonal grille gives individuality updated crossover.

Functionality and vehicle capacity make it ideal for young families with several children. The total length of the model is now 4690 mm, height is 1680 mm, width – 1880 mm and wheelbase of 2700 mm, so the car was spacious.

In the U.S. market the car engine lineup will be represented by two petrol units: 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Theta II GDI (193 hp, peak torque of 245.2 Nm, fuel consumption 10.2 and 7.1 l / 100 km) and 2.0-liter turbocharged Theta II (268 hp, peak torque of 364.8 Nm, fuel consumption 10.7 and 7.6 l/100 km).

As part of branding strategies of Hyundai models now have the same brand name in all countries. Thus, the new crossover will be presented to all automotive market as Hyundai Santa Fe. However, depending on technical specifications vehicle name may differ slightly. For example, in the U.S. Santa Fe will be sold as Santa Fe Sport.

During a press conference in New York, the largest automaker in South Korea also showed an elongated version of the updated crossover. Three-row model with increased wheelbase designed for seven passengers. This modification, sales of which will begin in January 2013 in the U.S., notable for its spacious showroom and more voluminous engine, wheelbase increased to 2800 mm, and total length up to 4905 mm, while the height is 1690 mm, width – 1885 mm.

Soon new Hyundai Santa Fe, which has already received 3,000 pre-orders, will be available in South Korea. The car promises to be a competitive proposal in the family crossovers worldwide.
