Renault CEO Carlos Tavares said Tuesday during a presentation to analysts that it company plans to launch two new brands, one of which will take niche sports car, and the other will be created for luxury cars. The final decision of the company should come by the end of the year, says the French publication Les Echos.
In addition to Renault in the general segment and budget Dacia, the French manufacturer is ready to revive their old sports brand Alpine, as well as a new line of premium models. These marks can be successfully designed to complement the company's partners in the group Renault-Nissan: Nissan, Infiniti, Datsun, Lada and Samsung.
At this stage, the idea of passing a comprehensive study, and the executive committee has not yet ruled on this issue. But according to internal information sources in the company, a decision may be taken by the end of the year.
