American hackers have found a way to remotely "vzlamuvaty" and steal cars, using for this purpose a phone or laptop.
Programmers from USA Don Bailey and Mathew Solnik have found a way of breaking cars by remote control and telemetry systems, such as BMW Assist, GM OnStar, Ford Sync, and Hyundai Blue Link. These systems communicate with remote servers via car manufacturers standard communication channels, such as GSM and CDMA. Hackers have found a way to connect to the onboard computers of cars, so that the system on these computers perform their teams.
These "holes" in the software auto give kidnappers truly unlimited. Bailey and Solnik said that the hacking protection system of data transmission between the vehicle and a remote place they took about two hours, reports SecurityLab.
On its opening programmers are going to tell the conference Black Hat USA, which will be held next week. According to the hackers, they prepared a video presentation of how you can make any car equipped with one of the above systems, using laptop. However, detailed information on the identified vulnerability will be presented to the public only after the car manufacturers will be able to resolve it.
